Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile application Engru English (hereinafter referred to as the "Application"). The Application is designed to help users learn English through words, sentences, stories, conversations, grammar, short videos, and exercises.

1. No Account and No User Registration

We believe in absolute user privacy. You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide any personal identification information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address) to use the Application. All learning progress is accessed offline.

2. Data Collection and Local Storage

All data generated by your use of the Application (including your vocabulary lists, scores, progress, and settings) is stored locally on your mobile device using encrypted Hive databases. We do not operate any backend servers and do not collect, store, or transmit this data to our systems or to any third parties.

3. Third-Party Services and Advertisements

The Application integrates third-party services to support its development, operations, and monetization. These services may collect certain device identifiers or diagnostic details to perform their functions. Specifically, the Application uses:

A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)

We display third-party advertisements inside the Application using Google AdMob to support continuing updates. AdMob may collect and process information such as:

Google AdMob uses these identifiers to deliver personalized or non-personalized advertisements, enforce frequency capping, prevent fraud, and measure ad performance. You can control ad personalization on your device settings (e.g., by resetting or disabling your Advertising ID).

For more information, please review the Google Privacy & Terms.

B. Device Text-to-Speech Engine

The Application relies on Google Text-to-Speech (TTS) or your device's default speech synthesizer to provide pronunciation features. This service runs locally on your device and does not share your data with us.

4. Required Permissions

To deliver its core features, the Application may request the following device permissions:

5. Data Security

Because all of your learning data remains stored locally on your own physical device, the security of your data depends on securing your device. We encourage you to use standard device passcode protections and keep your device operating system updated.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
